CENIOS Parvo
A reliable antigen detection of parvoviruses in the faeces of cats and dogs is provided by the CENIOS Parvo.
The canine parvovirus matches 99% of the DNA structure of the feline parvovirus. This means that the pathogens can be detected in both dogs and cats. Parvoviruses cause the disease parvovirosis and are primarily transmitted via faeces or stomach contents (vomit).
If parvovirus disease exists and is not treated, e.g. because it remains undetected, mortality increases. Early treatment, for example by infusions and enteral feeding, is crucial and can increase the chances of survival of the diseased animal to up to 90 %.
Timely detection of the disease, for example through the CENIOS Parvo rapid test, is crucial to enable early and successful treatment.
